Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which takes place in the 32nd Century not the halcyon days of the Federation, introduces the first class of cadets in 120 years.
The main cadets are Sandro Rosta as Caleb Kir, Karim Diane as Klingon Jay-Den Kraag, Kerrice Brooks as Sam, Bella Shepard as Genesis Lythe, ,George Hawkins as Darem Reyml and Zoë Steiner as Tamara Sadal.
Holly Hunter is Captain of the USS Athena and Chancellor of the Academy aboard the ship and in San Francisco on Earth.
Paul Giomatti recurs as season one’s Big Bad (a Klingon? with an ominous past connected to Sandro Rosta’s Caleb Mir)
What’s Starfleet Academy about?
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will introduce us to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism.
Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they will discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.

A mammoth two-storey Starfleet Academy set — with a mess hall, amphitheatre, trees, catwalks, multiple classrooms and a view of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge — will be constructed in a single contiguous space on Pinewood Toronto’s 45,900 square foot soundstage, the largest in Canada, reports Variety in its Star Trek cover story.
