Hudson Williams & HEATED RIVALRY Dominate the CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS

If I could cut this award down the middle I would because if these gay yearnings . . .didn’t have a big sexy Russian to feast upon, my performance wouldn’t be as good. So to the honorary Canadian Connor Storrie I share this award with you. — Hudson Williams.

Heated Rivalry dominated the Canadian Screen Awards, with 16 awards including Best Drama Series and the Audience Choice Award.

Canadian breakout star Hudson Williams won Best Lead Performer for his role as a closeted professional hockey player in.a hot romance with another professional hockey player and thanked his American co-star Connor Storrie in his speech.

Adapted from the Game Changer books by Nova Scotia romance novelist Rachel Reid (pen name for Rachelle Goguen), the Crave and HBO series follows Canadian Montreal Metros player Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Russian Boston Raiders player Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) in the fictional MLH (Major League Hockey)..Their rivalry on the ice, and torrid love affair off of it, changes both of their lives.

Plus Sophie Nélisse (Yellowjackets) won the Best Supporting Performer, Nadine Bhabha won the Best Guest Performer and showrunnerJacob Tierney won Best Direction and Best Writing awards.

Heated Rivalry also won awards for Best Achievement in Casting, Best Photography, Best Picture Editing, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Original Music, Best Original Song and Best Sound.
