Season 2 of the hit Arctic comedy North of North , starring Anna Lambe , premieres September 8th on CBC Gem.
North of North follows a young Inuk woman (Anna Lambe) who wants to build a new future for herself after a spontaneous — and extremely public — exit from her marriage. But it won’t be easy in a small Arctic town where everybody knows your business.
In Season 2:
Winter is settling over Ice Cove, and young Inuk mother Siaja (Anna Lambe) is still determined to make life better – for herself and everyone around her. This season she learns that while you can blow up your life on an impulse, building the one you want takes a little more planning and a lot more hustle. Guided by Pilimmaksarniq – the Inuktitut concept of mastering skills through observation, practice and effort – Siaja is ready to put in the work.
At the community centre, she’s pushing her boss, Helen (Mary Lynn Rajskub), to trust her with more responsibility. At home, she’s trying to learn everything she can about the half-sister she never knew existed. And after her divorce, she’s open to the possibility of love – or at the very least, a hot date.
Through it all, she’s raising her daughter, Bun (Keira Belle Cooper), alongside her mother, Neevee (Maika Harper), and newfound father, Alistair (Jay Ryan). Siaja has always believed the best is yet to come. This winter, she’s determined to prove it.

Production began in Toronto in January and then moved to snowy Iqaluit in Canada’s most northern territory Nunavut. in March.
Mary Lynn Rajskub, Keria Cooper, Make Harper, Braeden Clarke, Jay Ryan, Kelly William, Zorga Qaunaq and Doreen Simmonds round out the North of North cast.

Canadian Screen Awards 2026:
North of North won nine Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Comedy and Best Comedy Ensemble.
Anna Lambe accepted an award for Best Lead Performer for her starring role in the CBC and Netflix co-production at the gala event in Toronto.
Maika Harper won Best Supporting Performer and Tanya Tagaq won Best Guest Performer.
While the entire cast took Best Comedy Ensemble.
