Daniel Dae Kim’s Fire Lord Ozai is a looming presence in the third and final season of Netflix’s live adaption of Avatar: The Last Airbender, coming in 2027.

The actor strides onto the Flavelle Mill backlot near Rocky Point in Port Moody.
The village, originally built as a feudal Japan set for FX’s Shogun series, played the Earth Kingdom in season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Fire Nation in season 3.
Daniel Dae Kim shared a photo of the season 3 cap ahead of production.
Which included some on-lacation shooting on Iceland’s black sand beaches as Fire Nation.

What’s Avatar: The Last Airbender about?
Aang (Gordon Cormier) the last Airbender and his friends Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ian Ousley) from the Water Tribe must save the world by defeating Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim) and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.
Season one ended with Aang and his companions stopping the Fire Nation — led by Prince Zuko (Dallas Lee) , his uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee),and Commander Zhao (Ken Leung) — from destroying the Northern Water Tribe, but it was a distraction from the larger war.
Zuko’s sister, Princess Azula (Elizabeth Yu), conquered Omashu, one of the two Earth Kingdom cities that had managed to stave off the Fire Nation and took King Bumi (Utkarsh Ambudkar) prisoner.
In season 2, Aang and his friends Katara and Sokka recruit Toph Belfong ( Miya Cech) to teach Earthbending to Aang. Their journey leads them to the capitol of the Earth Kingdom, Ba Sing Se.
But season 2 ended with Aang in critical condition after Princess Azula struck him with lightning in Ba Sing Se while he was in the Avatar State.
To make things worse, Prince Zuko betrayed the gang and aligned himself once again with his sister, Azula., and father, Fire Lord Ozai, and the rest of the Fire Nation.
