The sun came out just in time for the big Gracepoint cast photo at Island View Beach north of Victoria on Sunday, after several torrential downpours made earlier individual photo shoots difficult. The photographer tested the group cast photo on Saturday with crew alternating as regular crew moving the light stands and prop CSI tent around or as stand-ins for cast — “Stand there and look super creepy,” crew in the back was told.
Broadchurch–inspired series Gracepoint is about a young boy found dead on Gracepoint Beach below a cliff-face, with everyone in the small northern California town a suspect. The murder turns neighbour against neighbour and sparks a national media feeding frenzy with Detectives Emmett Carver (Doctor Who/Broadchurch’s David Tennant) and Ellie Miller (Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn) under scrutiny as well.

Island View Beach is a dog paradise, although no canines got close enough to photobomb the cast photo or to say hello to the only dog in the Gracepoint cast (a local German Shepherd mix getting its big break).

FOX’s 10-episode Gracepoint event series is expected to air this Fall on the American network and is expected to wrap filming in greater Victoria at the end of this month.
Was Mr. Miller’s name changed to Jack? I was under the impression that Gracepoint was still sticking with the name Joe as used in Broadchurch.
