Real husband, fake husband, real husband, fake husband.
Lisa Edelstein married artist Robert Russell in Los Angeles two Sundays ago, before she headed up to Vancouver to prep for the start of filming tomorrow of her new series Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, with Paul Adelstein as her fake husband. Confusing? You betcha.
Bravo’s hour-long dramedy from showrunner Marti Noxon is a contemporary and fun take on a woman tackling life after divorce with the help of her girlfriends. Based on books by Vicki Iovine, the 13-episode Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce will follow best-selling self-help author Abby (Lisa Edelstein), who tries to keep it a secret that she’s separated from her husband (Paul Adelstein), as she navigates her new life in Los Angeles as a single woman in her early forties. Not surprisingly, she begins to find advice from her divorced friends Lyla (Janeane Garofalo) and Phoebe (Beau Garrett) more relevant than her married ones and that leads to some changes.
Holy smokes, that was awesome. @adelsteinPaul #GF‘sGuide @Bravotv @beaujgarrett @LisaEdelstein @martinoxon pic.twitter.com/ANRnKeSDIM”

Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce shot its pilot in Vancouver last November for a couple of weeks and was spotted filming near City Hall in New Westminster and in a Hotel Georgia bar and the Ginger 62 nightclub in downtown Vancouver, perhaps playing L.A. night life? Since the series pickup, production added Necar Zadegan to the cast as a divorce attorney at Lyla’s firm.
Oh Vancouver, yes, you’re pretty. Your SO pretty. I get it. Enough. Time for #GGTD action! @martinoxon Let’s get … http://t.co/EtuR26TcFF

No one on this series seems to mind having to shoot in Vancouver as Los Angeles. Producing director Robert Duncan McNeil, from Star Trek: Voyager, rode his motorcycle from L.A. up here and shared a scrapbook as far as Oregon.
