Virgin River follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse and midwife who moves to the small California town from Los Angeles after her husband Mark dies. There she falls for restaurant/bar owner and former marine Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and after a lot of complications the pair got married in the season 6 finale.
For some shows, Mel and Jack’s wedding would have been the series finale, but that’s not how showrunner Patrick Sean Smith sees it.

And we don’t need to worry about their relationship unravelling.

Season 7 will see Mel and Jack’s newlywed beginnings as a married couple and push them further along their path to parenthood. Will Mel and Jack adopt Marley’s baby?

There’s Hope (Annette O’Toole) and Doc (Tim Matheson); Preacher (Colin Lawrence) and Kaia (Kandyse McClure); and Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury).
And the Brie-Mike-Brady love triangle continues, too. Mike proposed to Brie in the finale after making it clear he knew about Brie hooking up with her ex Brady. We don’t know how Brie responds. We do know how Lark responds — she swindles Brady out of his money and takes off.
And what about the big season 6 cliffhanger? Jack walks into his ex Charmaine’s house to ask why she skipped the wedding and finds something horrifying off camera. Is Charmaine missing or murdered? Are the twins OK? Season 7 picks up two hours later, with no time jump.
How long can the series go?
Virgin River is Netflix’s longest-running scripted show and still one of its top TV titles.
Season 5 of Virgin River ranked #9 in Top 10 TV Titles for the back half of 2023.
