SHOOT: HAWAII FIVE-O Films Grace Park in Vancouver’s Chinatown – Updated

Hawaii Five-O [is filming here for a few days] to the surprise of everyone. The CBS reboot appeared on a BC production list last week and talk was H5-O would film scenes set somewhere in China. Local star Grace Park (Officer Kono Kalakaua) was spotted first in a car scene out in Stanley Park against a North Vancouver backdrop as Seattle  (see @SarahHeartie’s photo) and then driving through Stanley Park in Vancouver as Vancouver]. H5-0 then moved to Chinatown for this sequence of Kono walking down Pender Street dressed as Hong Kong, judging from the license plates on the prop cars and the background performers.

The first thing you notice about Grace Park beyond her beauty is how tall she is.

From Chinatown, production moved inside the Terminal City Ironworks compound in east Vancouver. Update: And there’s more filming inside TCI and in the surrounding area on Sunday. Apparently, H50  shot scenes at TCI of Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) on the run in Kowloon and a later scene of Kono and her cuz Det. Lt. Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) in Tokyo. These scenes have since been inserted into Fall episodes from the Kono and Adam on-the-run scenes in Kowloon for 4x 04 A iu la aku and these Kono scenes in Hong Kong for 4×05 Kupu’eu to Kono in Seattle and then Vancouver for 4×11 Pukana.

Update: The Kono-and-Adam-on-the-run storyline wrapped with Kaimuchi, Hawaii playing Vancouver in 4×12. Crew used a prop yellow Vancouver B.C. cab and dressed Grace Park in a parka to make it look like a Vancouver winter in Hawaii. By the end of this episode, Kono and Adam were back in Hawaii  and Grace Park reunited with the rest of the main cast.
