  • Sunday, May 25th – Continuum 3×09 Minute of Silence airs on Showcase. Kiera (Rachel Nichols), without much help from Carlos (Victor Webster), pursues a group of brilliant students who use cutting-edge technology to commit crimes; at the same time, she’s pursued by amnesiac John Doe (Ryan Robbins) who wants her help piecing together his mysterious past. Elsewhere, Kellog (Stephen Lobo) finds a way to get back in business with Alec (Erik Knudsen).


  • Saturday, May 24th – Cruel & Unusual opens at VanCity Theatre.


  • Saturday, May 24th – CTV buys rights to The Flash and two other superhero series, Gotham and Marvel: Agent Carter, for broadcast this Fall in Canada.
  • Friday, May 23rd – World of Warcraft adaption Warcraft wraps filming in Vancouver.
  • Friday, May 23rd – Monster Trucks films at Montana Steak House in Surrey.
  • Friday, May 23rd – USA Network series Rush with Tom Ellis as debauched doctor/”medical fixer” films at Hudson’s Landing Pub in south Vancouver.
  • Friday, May 23rd – Continuum 3×08 airs on Syfy in the U.S. Betty (Jennifer Spence) is killed in final minutes.
  • Friday, May 23rd – Continuum reunion of Victor Webster, Mike Dopud, Richard Harmon and Jennifer Spence on Hope set of Christmas/Cowboy TV movie.

    Thursday, May 22nd – Motive 2×12 Kiss of Death airs on CTV. A murder mystery author is poisoned at Cecil Green house at UBC. Ben Cotton guest stars as The Killer.
  • Thursday, May 22nd – Gracepoint star David Tennant in U.K. for table read of Broadchurch season two, while Gracepoint films at its Gracepoint Journal set in Oak Bay, Victoria.


  • Thursday, May 22nd – News that Mark Pellegrino cast on A&E’s The Returned.
  • Thursday, May 22nd – American broadcast season 2013-14 rankings: Once Upon a Time ranks a surprising #12 in 18-49 demo with 4.2 million viewers and averages 9.4 million total viewers for the season. Almost Human has high rankings for a cancelled series, at #29 in the 18-49 demo. Vancouver whydunit Motive has a large audience, averaging 4.3 million total viewers. And in another surprise Supernatural is the CW’s biggest hit in 18-49 demo for 2013-14.
  • Wednesday, May 21st – Motive season 2 premiere on American network ABC.

  • Wednesday, May 21st – The 100 1×10 I am Become Death airs on The CW. Murphy (Richard Harmon) returns with a virus from the Grounders meant to soften up the camp before a dawn attack.
  • Wednesday, May 21st – Big-budget live-action movie Monster Trucks films in the farms & fields south of Abbotsford, aka Sumas Prairie.
  • Wednesday, May 21st – USA Network series Rush with Tom Ellis starts filming.

  • Wednesday, May 21st – CTV orders a third season of Vancouver whydunit Motive with Kristin Lehman & Louis Ferreira.
  • Wednesday, May 21st – Bates Motel‘s Vera Farmiga is one of the Drama Queens featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s round table discussion.
  • Wednesday, May 21st – Zombie Liv (Rose McIver)’s roommate to be recast on new CW series iZombie.
  • Wednesday, May 21st – Supernatural season 9 finale is up 38% from last week and up 10% from last season’s finale, with 2.28 million viewers.
  • Tuesday, May 20th – Supernatural season 9 finale 2×23 Do you Believe in Miracles? airs on The CW. Castiel (Misha Collins) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) try to save Dean (Jensen Ackles) from the effects of the first blade by locking him in the bunker. Dean calls Crowley (Mark Sheppard) for help escaping. Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) makes a move against humanity and kills Dean but is defeated in the end. Dean wakes up a demon in the final seconds.
