The Flash introduces bomb disposal expert Bette Sans Souci, aka Plastique, in the fifth episode of the freshman DC drama. How does she become Plastique? The freak particle accelerator explosion at S.T.A.R. labs which makes Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) super fast, turns Bette Sans Souci (Kelly Frye) into a human weapon — someone who can turn anything she touches into an explosive device.

The Flash filmed Barry Allen (Gustin) and Bette Sans Souci on location at the Vancouver City Works Yard in south False Creek a month ago. Barry Allen’s S.T.A.R. Labs partners bioengineering expert Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco “makes the toys” Ramon (Carlos Valdes) provided their expertise.

Production then moved to the seawall where they detonated a massive SPFX explosion and filmed Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in costume as The Flash walking in a field of dead bodies with Bette Sans Souci (Kelly Frye). Did she cause it?
The Flash premieres Tuesday, October 7th, on The CW in the U.S. and CTV in Canada.
