Two teenage sisters — Nell (Ellen Page) and Eva (Evan Rachel Woods) — living with their father in a forest must survive in the near-future when the world around them turns apocalyptic. The power goes out. The radio goes silent. Everything is stripped away until they are left alone to fight intruders, disease, starvation and loneliness. Over time they transform themselves from helpless teens into primitive survivalists. Based on the novel by Jean Hegland and directed by Patricia Rozema in BC coast locations like Squamish , Pitt Meadows and Campbell River. The film co-stars Max Minghella, Callum Keith Rennie, Michael Eklund and Wendy Crewson.
