Lee Min-ho had a different look in Steveston, wearing suits and matching fedoras as wealthy fishbroker, Koh Hansu in Steveston, dressed as the fishing village of Yeongdo, a ferry ride from Busan.
Yeongdo is where Hansu pursues the young Sunja (Kim Min-ha) who becomes pregnant. It is only then that Hansu reveals he is already married and only wants Sunja as his mistress.

Pachinko is the story of four generations of an immigrant Korean family.
Working title: Eleos.
Vancouver filming dates: February 6th – April 9th, 2021.
In the early 1900s, teenaged Sunja (Kim Min-ha), the adored daughter of a crippled fisherman, falls for a wealthy stranger Koh Hansu (Lee Min-ho) at the seashore near her home in Korea. He promises her the world, but when she discovers she is pregnant–and that her lover is married–she refuses to be bought. Instead, she accepts an offer of marriage from a gentle, sickly minister passing through on his way to Japan. But her decision to abandon her home, and to reject her son’s powerful father, sets off a dramatic saga that will echo down through the generations.
Richly told and profoundly moving, Pachinko is a story of love, sacrifice, ambition, and loyalty. From bustling street markets to the halls of Japan’s finest universities to the pachinko parlors of the criminal underworld, Lee’s complex and passionate characters–strong, stubborn women, devoted sisters and sons, fathers shaken by moral crisis–survive and thrive against the indifferent arc of history.
Pachinko will stream in Korean, Japanese and English.
Cast: Lee Min-ho, Kim Min-ha, Jin Ha, Anna Sawai, Soji Arai, Kaho Minami.

Jin Ha is Solomon, an ambitious, charming young man who will be forced to reckon with his family’s past.

Soji Arai is Mosazu, a dedicated father and successful businessman, concerned for his son’s future.

Kerry Knuppe is Mrs. Holmes.
Showrunner: Soo Hugh.
Directors: Kogonada, Justin Chon.
Producers. Michael Ellenberg, Min Jin Lee.
Pachinko was shooting in Busan, Korea, and Japan last Fall.
