FX on Hulu’s SHŌGUN Series With Cosmo Jarvis & Hiroyuki Sanada Starts Filming in B.C.

FX on Hulu’s Shōgun series starts filming in British Columbia with Cosmo Jarvis as John Blackthorne and Hiroyuki Sanada as Lord Toranaga. The Lady Mariko role has not been announced yet.

Filming dates: September 22nd to April 22, 2022.

FX’s Shogun series with Cosmo Jarvis & Hiroyuki Sanada To Film in Vancouver This Fall/Winter

Shōgun is set in feudal Japan. It charts the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds and a mysterious female samurai: John Blackthorne (CosmoJarvis), a risk-taking English sailor who ends up shipwrecked in Japan, a land whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately redefine him; Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), a shrewd, powerful daimyo, at odds with his own dangerous, political rivals; and Lady Mariko, a woman with invaluable skills but dishonorable family ties who must prove her value and allegiance.

Richard Chamberlain, Toshiro Mifune and Yoko Shimada played John Blackthorne, Lord Toranaga and Lady Mariko in the 1980 Shōgun miniseries.

  1. The TV series was a great honor to James Clavell’s Book. And way ahead of it’s time. I hope This new project is a testament to Bringing to life Japanese History and Cuture.
