Apple TV+’s golf comedy, starring Owen Wilson as a former pro golfer and Peter Danger as his protege, is staging a PGA tournament at the Pitt Meadows Golf Club.
Pryce Cahill (Owen Wilson) is an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom (Peter Dager).
I’m hearing crew has built grand stands and there are about 600 backgrounders expected on set today, with that number growing to 1,000 on Friday.
The Pitt Meadows Golf Club closed its facility for four days last week and will close for four days this week and two days next week for filming.
Other characters:
Judy Greer plays Pryce Cahill’s ex-wife.
Marc Maron plays Mitts, Pryce’s best friend and former caddy.
Mariana Treviño plays Elena, mother of the golf phenom.
Lilli Kay plays Zero, a Gen-Z social justice warrior who joins Pryce on the road as he shepherds the young golf phenom.
