Coach Ben died this week on Yellowjackets but actor Steven Krueger’s Death Party happened last summer during season 3 production in Vancouver.
And it looks like it was a banger — with a severed leg cake, a tombstone with his name on it and castmates dressed in funeral black.
Yellowjackets is about a group of survivors from a girls’ high-school soccer team who 25 years ago were stranded deep in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash and went feral to stay alive.
Accused of burning down their Winter shelter, Coach Ben suffered a cruel captivity for a few episodes before teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) put him out of his misery with a mercy killing.
Then under teen Shauna (Sophie Nelisse)’s brutal new leadership, the Yellowjackets ate him even though they had enough food for once.
We are doing cannibalism voluntarily, not for survival, but because we decided to – Liv Hewson and Jasmin Savoy Brown.
It was bad luck for the teen survivors that the first outsiders to find the stranded Yellowjackets in the Canadian Wilderness, stumbled into their teepee camp as they screamed, chanted and danced around the fire during their cannibalistic feast.
What the fuck?! — Nelson Franklin’s Edwin spoke for us all when he saw Coach Ben’s head on display.
