Former pro wrestler and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista is in talks to replace the injured Ryan Hurst in the lead role of Kratos in Prime Video’s God of War series filming in British Columbia.

Production on the live-action adaption of the popular ancient mythology game paused July 1st , after Ryan Hurst’s on set injury in late June.. The plan was to resume production on August 10th after the actor recovered from surgery on his torn bicep.
But that was optimistic. A return to full strength from a serious bicep tear could take up to a year.
Studios Sony Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios couldn’t wait that long and the hunt began for a replacement, reported Deadline: Hollywood.
What is God of War about?
God of War follows Kratos, the God of War, who, after exiling himself from his blood-soaked past in ancient Greece, hangs up his weapons forever in the Norse realm of Midgard.
When his beloved wife dies, Kratos sets off on a dangerous journey with his estranged son (Callum Vinson)to spread her ashes from the highest peak—his wife’s final wish.
Kratos soon realizes the journey is an epic quest in disguise, one which will test the bonds between father and son, and force Kratos to battle new Gods and monsters for the fate of the world.
