Netflix’s adaption of Carley Fortune’s romance novel This Summer Will be Different, starring Sophie Nélisse, is filming on the red sands and cliffs of Basin Head Beach on Prince Edward Island today.

What’s it about?
Lucy (Sophie Nélisse) is vacationing one summer on Prince Edward Island, and meets Felix (Roby Attal) in an electric, chemistry-filled night. Only one problem: Felix is her best friend Bridget’ (Francesca Reale)”s younger brother. On her annual return trips to P.E.I., Lucy vows to avoid Felix and his bed — easier said than done.
When Bridget rushes home to P.E.I. in crisis a week before her wedding, Lucy can only follow and remind herself to protect her heart, but wonders if she really wants to do that after all.
Production on the largest television production ever to come to P.E.I. started earlier this week.
Sophie Nelisse arrived on the weekend after wrapping four seasons in Vancouver as a teen soccer star gone feral in the Emmy-nominated Yellowjackets series.

Local CBC reporters spotted the “TSWBD” film crew set up at Charlottetown Alexander B. Campbell Airport on Tuesday
And heard that a beach in North Rustico was closed tfor filming on Wednesday.
And today Basin Head Provincial Park is closed to the public.
This Summer Will be Different will spend a month filming on Prince Edward Island and two-and-a-half months filming in Toronto.
