SHOOT: Jorge Garcia’s The Giant in Steveston for ONCE UPON A TIME 2×13 Tiny

FE FI FO . . RUN! Three weeks from tonight, The Giant (Jorge Garcia) is back with a huge grudge and he’s unleashing his vengeance on the town of Storybrooke — after being kidnapped and brought there by Cora. He looks as angry as ever but maybe not so giant size.

I watched Jorge Garcia in costume do a scene of Anton the Giant furiously stomping along the street as cars swerved out of his way, filmed on a rainy December morning on Moncton Street in Steveston. Later, Once Upon a Time crew shot scenes of townsfolk running away from The Giant in terror as Charming (Josh Dallas) and Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin with a bow and quiver of arrows on her back) stand their ground.

PROMOS: ONCE UPON A TIME 2×12 In the Name of the Brother Photos – Updated

Dr. Victor Frankenstein (David Anders)’s black-and-white world of horrors returns in flashbacks on next Sunday’s Once Upon a Time, as he tries to convince his father Alphonse (Gregory Itzin) that he can resurrect the dead. Does this have something to do with the doctor’s brother (Chad Michael Collins)? Meanwhile, in present-day Storybrooke, Dr. Whale (also David Anders) must perform surgery on the Outsider (Ethan Embrey) who crashed across the town border at the end of last night’s episode. What’s to be done with him?

Here’s the ABC logline:

While Dr. Whale treats the outsider, the townspeople decide what to do with the man who may know Storybrooke’s secret. Meanwhile, Cora meets with her daughter and Gold tries to meet with Belle. In another world, Victor tries to convince his father Alphonse that he can bring back the dead.

And here are some promo stills of Rumple/Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle), Snow/Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming/David (Josh Dallas) at the Storybrooke border trying to comfort a frightened Belle (Emilie de Ravin) with no memories of any of them.

BATES MOTEL Opens for Business on March 18th on A&E

Contemporary Psycho prequel series Bates Motel is back filming on its spooky Psycho replica motel and house set in Aldergrove today, a motel that officially opens for business on March 18th.
A&E announced the premiere date last Friday ahead of a Bates Motel-themed luncheon and panel at the Winter Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour in Pasadena. The 10-episode serialized season, which wraps filming in Vancouver late this month, is a present-day reimagining of the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock horror classic Psycho not a homage, showrunner Carleton Cuse told critics. This psychological thriller focuses on Freddie Highmore’s teenage version of future serial killer Norman Bates. living in present-day White Pine Bay, Oregon, and explores the dark backstory of  his relationship with his unhinged mother, Vera Farmiga’s Norma Bates, as he approaches his evil destiny.  Or “How I Stuffed My Mother”, as Daniel Fienberg from HitFix.com reportedly joked in the session.

SHOOT: ONCE UPON A TIME’s Hook & Smee on Dave’s Fish & Chips Roof in Steveston for 2×11 – Updated

Now that we’ve seen Colin O’Donoghue’s nefarious and dangerously seductive Hook heading into Storybrooke on his pirate ship in the last scene of Once Upon a Time’s mid-season finale, it’s no longer a big spoiler where I photographed him in early November or who he was with.

Once Upon a Time crew put a fake chimney on top of Dave’s Fish & Chips in Steveston south of Vancouver to film scenes of Hook and Christopher Gauthier’s Smee spying from the roof. It’s probably not a coincidence that Dave’s Fish & Chips is next door to Mr. Gold’s on Moncton Street. After all, Hook has come to Storybrooke to exact his revenge on Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold. Or that his henchman Smee, who already abducted Rumplestiltskin’s beloved Belle once at the behest of her florist father, plays a role in Hook’s plans.

Watch your backs RumBelle. As Colin O’Donoghue told TVLine earlier this month: “Belle is such a huge part of Rumple’s life…She might figure into the equation.”

[Spoiler Update: After what I saw Once Upon a Time filming this morning, I’m no longer sure that Belle is Hook’s target. The cloak Hook is holding belongs to Bae.]
