Jensen Ackles is back as Homeland’s father Soldier Boy for the final season of Eric Kripke’s effed-up superheroes universe The Boys.
A group of vigilantes – called The Boys – come together to take down the superhero company Vought and their top :”supes” The Seven
The first two episodes are now streaming on Prime Video.
We see Homelander has rescued his father from a CIA black site.

And revived him. For what purpose?

Homelander sends his father on a mission to find Billy Butcher, the leader of the Boys, and suggests he can clear Soldier Boy’s name and make him No. 2 in The Seven if he succeeds.

But really it’s a strategy to test if Soldier Boy can survive the Supes virus, which he seemingly doesn’t, after being lured into Billy Butcher’s trap.

A sad Homelander next to his father’s corpse in a body bag.

But the final hilarious scene is Soldier Boy doing the Undertaker rise.

This means the much-anticipated on-screen reunion of Supernatural’s main trio — Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins — is still coming.

How did season 4 end?
Season 4 ended with Homelander (Antony Starr) in control of the new U.S. President and an army of supes. This season will be the last chance for Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and the Boys to defeat Homelander.
The show is a serialized story that is about [Billy] Butcher and Homelander slowly crashing into each other, and the show doesn’t work without either of those. So you just can’t keep that going on forever. . . you have to let them smash into each other. — Eric Kripke to The Hollywood Reporter.
What’s the final season about?
In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s (Antony Starr) world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) and Frenchie (Tomer Capone) are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp’. Annie (Erin Moriarty) struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) is nowhere to be found.
But when Butcher (Karl Urban) reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.
