Sunday, May 5th – Red Widow finale The Hit 1×08 Convinced that Schiller (Goran Visnjic) murdered her husband, Marta (Radha Mitchell) asks for help with a revenge plot. But it turns out Schiller didn’t make her a widow. Her own father did because he didn’t want to lose his grandkids. Unfortunately no one tells Natalie (Erin Moriarty) who pulls a gun on Schiller in the final scene of the finale filmed at the Guiness Tower downtown last year.
Sunday, May 5th – Continuum 2×03 Vancouver-cop-from-the-future Kiera (Rachel Nichols) investigates a new street drug she recognizes because her sister was hooked on it in the future. The scenes of Kiera finding her sister in a shanty town for the “emancipated” were filmed on a parkade rooftop in Gastown. In present day, Alec Sandler (Erik Knudsen)’s friends drop the drug on the CBC Plaza and rival Liber8 operatives and former lovers Sonya and Travis go to war using gangs as their weapons.
Sunday, May 5th – Once Upon a Time 2×21 Young Baelfire (Dylan Schmid) is befriended by the Darling family of Peter Pan fame. Grownup Baelfire/Neal (Michael Raymond-James) intervenes in his father (Robert Carlyle)’s attempted stomping of Dr. Whale (David Anders( to impress Lacey (Emilie de Ravin); much needed talk between Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and grownup Baelfire/Neal takes place on Third Beach in Stanley Park, Meanwhile, Greg (Ethan Embry) and Tamara (Sonequa Martin Green) torture Regina (Lana Parilla) in Steveston cannery buildings.
Sunday, May 5th – Feature film Robocop with Joel Kinnaman, which shot last summer in Toronto, films in SFU Woodward’s underground parking and later at Granville and Dunsmuir.
Sunday May 5th – Words and Pictures with Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche scheduled to wrap filming in Vancouver, according to latest B.C. Production List.

The Bates Motel set out in Aldergrove on 272nd Street is the spitting image of the 12-room Seafarer motel and Gothic house set from Alfred Hitchcock’s horror classic Psycho, except for the missing top of the Bates house which was CGIed in post-production for tonight’s premiere on A&E. This contemporary prequel focuses on a younger version of Psycho movie killer Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) in a coastal Oregon town called White Pine Bay and explores his relationship with his unhinged mother (Vera Farmiga) as he approaches his evil destiny. Is this the relationship that turns Norman into a killer who stuffed his mother?

Update: Turns out ferry worker Cody is Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos)’s boyfriend. She’s leaving him to return to the city to work on the street kid killings case. Their relationship ends in the car, as she tells him: “You don’t know me, I break things.”

The Killing crew did something last week I’ve never seen or heard of before — filmed a scene for the Seattle-set murder mystery on the car deck of a regular BC Ferries sailing from Bowen Island to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. Pulling that off in a 20-minute crossing took some planning and assistance from BC Ferries. Prop Washington state cars for the show got priority loading ahead of regular vehicle traffic for the 5 p.m. sailing last Wednesday on the Queen of Capilano from Snug Cove. The camera crew walked on separately, climbed the stairs to the upper deck and set up to film half-a-dozen takes of a scene of a Seattle area Vashon Island ferry worker walking across the car deck and getting into the passenger seat of former Seattle Police detective Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos)’s car.

Season three of The Killing takes a place a year and a half after detectives Sarah Linden and Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) arrested Rosie Larsen’s killer. Linden is no longer a detective but Holder’s “search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation by Linden”. Peter Sarsgaard co-stars as a death row inmate.

Psycho prequel Bates Motel is expected to wrap filming in Vancouver early this coming week after spending four days shooting its season finale on its spooky Psycho replica motel and house set in Aldergrove from Monday to Thursday..

On Friday, A&E shared a creepy new poster and teaser with Entertainment Weekly’s Inside TV. In the Motherly Love teaser, the camera slowly zooms in like a voyeur on teenage Norman (Freddie Highmore) and his possessive mother Norma (Vera Farigma) sitting side-by-side on a bed. You want to scream, Get a Room!, except they’re already in one and this is a mother and son. BATES MOTEL Opens for Business on March 18th on A&E

Contemporary Psycho prequel series Bates Motel is back filming on its spooky Psycho replica motel and house set in Aldergrove today, a motel that officially opens for business on March 18th.

A&E announced the premiere date last Friday ahead of a Bates Motel-themed luncheon and panel at the Winter Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour in Pasadena. The 10-episode serialized season, which wraps filming in Vancouver late this month, is a present-day reimagining of the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock horror classic Psycho not a homage, showrunner Carleton Cuse told critics. This psychological thriller focuses on Freddie Highmore’s teenage version of future serial killer Norman Bates. living in present-day White Pine Bay, Oregon, and explores the dark backstory of his relationship with his unhinged mother, Vera Farmiga’s Norma Bates, as he approaches his evil destiny. Or “How I Stuffed My Mother”, as Daniel Fienberg from HitFix.com reportedly joked in the session.

SHOOT: Freddie Highmore, Max Thieriot & Nicola Peltz Film BATES MOTEL 1×07 in Horseshoe Bay – Updated

Update April 29, 2013 – Had no idea I’d photographed Norman’s crush & one-time hookup Bradley Martin (Nicola Peltz, who’s co-starring in the next Transformers movie) in Horseshoe Bay. Now I wish I’d got there earlier to see Norma (Vera Farmiga) & Emma (Oliva Cooke) spying on Bradley in a yoga class.

In what cast calls an “incredible reimagining” of the Alfred Hitchcock classic Psycho, a teenage Norman Bates and his mother Norma Lousie Bates start fresh with the Bates Motel in the picturesque town of White Pine Bay, Oregon, filmed in the Vancouver area. Until yesterday, I’d never seen Freddie Highmore as future serial killer Norman on location for this upcoming A&E series from Lost co-showrunner Carlton Cuse (see the first promotional trailer) and Friday Night Lights producer Kerry Ehrin . Highmore didn’t look that different from his iconic role as young Peter in Finding Neverland but Bates Motel will be a vastly different world than Peter Pan’s.

On the surface White Pine Bay is as beautiful as its Vancouver locations but underneath there’s something dark and creepy going on. Think Friday Night Lights crossed with Twin Peaks. Normally Horseshoe Bay — on the edge of Howe Sound in West Vancouver — would count as one of those beautiful locations but yesterday it was dark and creepy on the surface too.

Bates Motel crew had turned Bay Market into Bay Market & Hardware for a scene of Norman (Freddie Highmore) and Norman’s step brother Dylan (Max Thieriot) buying supplies at a Fall Hardware Sale, carrying them out to the back of Dylan’s 4 x 4 and chatting with [Norman’s crush Bradley (Nicola Peltz)] who’d just been dropped off by her friends in a BMW.
