VIRGIN RIVER's Mel & Jack Back on Set in Vancouver For Season 7

Virgin River shared some season 7 images of Alexandra Breckinridge and Martin Henderson back on set in Vancouver, as well as some scoop on two new characters coming to town.

Virgin River follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse and midwife who moves to the small California town from Los Angeles after her husband Mark dies. There she falls for restaurant/bar owner and former marine Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) and after a lot of complications the pair got married in the season 6 finale.

New residents:

Vancouver’s Sara Canning will play ex-cop Victoria, an investigator for the state medical board, likely looking into Doc’s practice. While in Virgin River, Victoria “runs into a friend whom she wouldn’t mind catching up with…or maybe more”.

Cody Kearsley will play rodeo worker Clay, who has spent years searching for the younger sister he grew up with in foster care.

What’s Coming in Season 7:

Season 7 will see Mel and Jack’s newlywed beginnings as a married couple and push them further along their path to parenthood. Will Mel and Jack adopt Marley’s baby?

Other relationships: Preacher (Colin Lawrence) and Kaia (Kandyse McClure not pictured); Doc (Tim Matheson) and Hope (Annette O’Toole) and Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury).

And the Brie-Mike-Brady love triangle continues, too. Mike proposed to Brie in the finale after making it clear he knew about Brie hooking up with her ex Brady. We don’t know how Brie responds. We do know how Lark responds — she swindles Brady out of his money and takes off.

And what about the big season 6 cliffhanger? Jack walks into his ex Charmaine’s house to ask why she skipped the wedding and finds something horrifying off camera. Is Charmaine missing or murdered? Are the twins OK? Season 7 picks up two hours later, with no time jump.

How long can the series go?

Virgin River is Netflix’s longest-running scripted show and still one of its top TV titles.

Season 5 of Virgin River ranked #9 in Top 10 TV Titles for the back half of 2023.

Season 6, which featured Mel and Jack’s wedding, didn’t drop until close to Christmas, 2024. but managed to amass 157 million hours and 19 million views in 13 days.

And ranked #2 on Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Chart for 3 weeks in a row over the holidays, with a 5.5 billion minutes viewed in the U.S.
